'UnpredicTable' offers a feast for your eyes

Whether it's purely to admire the art or to acquire one-of-a-kind creations for your dining room, "UnpredicTable" will stimulate the artistic appetite of all who come to see the show.

This juried mixed media exhibition will run July 10 through Aug. 7 in the Kavanagh Gallery at Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St. Charles. An opening reception will be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 10. All gallery exhibits are free and open to the public.

Rustic to romantic, items you might expect, to many which will catch you by surprise, participating artists have created a wide range of unique works: furniture, textiles, pottery, glass, metalwork, paintings, woodworking and more, which convey the combined themes of "unpredictable" as well as things found at the dining table. Pieces may also evoke the mood created when people gather together around the table.

Included in this exhibit will be a collaborative display from artists John Abel, Don and Ellen Ljung, Dan Winslow, Heather Winslow and Jodi Younglove. Their Asian-inspired dining table display will feature furniture, textiles, glassware, pottery and wood.

Two galleries are included on Fine Line's campus. The spacious Kavanagh Gallery plays host to a number of exhibits, featuring local, national and international artists, throughout the year. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.

Art classes for adults are offered throughout the year, from ceramics, weaving and other textiles to jewelry making, blacksmithing, fused glass, painting, papermaking and more. Unique workshops taught by guest artists are also offered each session. Come see the exhibit and let your inner artist be inspired!
