In conjunction with Accretive Helping Hands, Accretive Health employees teamed up with St. Thomas Health and Baptist Volunteer Services in Nashville, Tenn., to build houses for Habitat for Humanity. Pictured at the worksite are Accretive Health employees Macee Bumpus (left) and Clint Anderson (right). As part of its ongoing commitment to philanthropic activities in the communities it serves, Accretive Health employees founded an organization dedicated to charitable giving, with Accretive Health, Inc., providing an initial financial endowment. Accretive Helping Hands was launched in December 2012 as an exciting new way for Accretive Healths 1,750 U.S. employees to extend their volunteerism. Accretive Helping Hands helps patients and their families navigate the difficulties encountered after treatment by partnering with community healthcare and social work providers. At Accretive Health, we are taking a very grass roots approach to our volunteer work, said Chris Hartemayer, a senior manager at Accretive Health. We have the people in place across the country and we are looking forward to assisting patients in the communities where they live and work.

For more information, visit www.accretivehealth.com. Accretive Helping Hands - The Choral-aires Chorus placed second in the Community Teams category raising funds for breast cancer research last month, missing first place by only $25. The chorus raised $3,985 by the time the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure rolled around, with more donations still coming, surpassing their original goal of $3,000. The Choral-Aires has five current chorus members that either have, or have had, breast cancer. And this year, 2 of the team members discovered that their mothers have breast cancer, so they were walking on race day for their moms. One member of our team, Kara Gray, celebrated her 10 years without breast cancer this year. While not a Chorus member, she is the daughter of long-time member Martha Anderson, who also walked with the team on race day. Lindsey Herza
