Political rifts re-emerge in Bensenville mayoral race
Four years after a bitter Bensenville mayoral election resulted in the defeat of a 24-year incumbent, the political divisions in town appear to be just as strong. Village President Frank Soto says Bensenville has come a long way since he unseated John Geils. But his two challengers say that progress isn't coming fast enough.

Suspect called ‘Beauty Salon’ bandit faces charges in DuPage
Updated Feb 8, 2013 9:04 PMAn Evanston man whom authorities dubbed the “Beauty Salon” robber is facing additional criminal charges in connection with the robbery of four DuPage County businesses. Jason Logsdon, 41, of 900 Chicago Ave., was charged Friday with the DuPage robberies.

Defense gets Glenbard South going
Updated Feb 7, 2013 11:42 PMUp. Down. Up and up. That describes how Glenbard South played in its four quarters Thursday night while hosting Fenton and closing out the Raiders home campaign on senior night. Glenbard South jumped ahead of the Bison 13-0 and eventually claimed the Metro Suburban Conference girls contest 49-26. But after the great start, the Raiders (19-6, 10-2) didn’t make a single shot from the floor in the second quarter and the Bison tied the game at 15 before a pair of Taylor Malone free throws gave the home team a 17-15 lead at the break.

- While the latest fashions brought more than 250 supporters of Chicago Uptown Ministry together for the Ministrys annual Luncheon and Fashion Show on March 10th, they also drew inspiration from being able to help provide services to the residents of Chicagos Uptown community. Generous donations from attendees and sponsors meant more than $33,000 was raised to help provide services such as a food pantry, after school/summer school programs, ESL classes, counseling services and the new Ways to Work program, which helps families buy or repair a car, allowing parents to more easily meet job demands while raising a child. George and Sarah Naxera of Kildeer sample mouth-watering morsels from 20 local restaurants at Clearbrook's fourth annual "Around the World Food Tasting" on Oct. 16 at Arlington Toyota-Scion in Palatine. Proceeds from the event went to the 3,400 children and adults with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other developmental/intellectual disabilities that Clearbrook serves.
