Children summer camp programs set to start June 18 at Forest View Educational Center

District 214 Community Education is offering STEM Summer Camp - with full-day and half-day classes - starting Monday, June 18. Nine full-day classes are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 20 half-day classes are scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Classes will be at Forest View Educational Center, 2121 S. Goebbert Road in Arlington Heights.

The full-day camp will offer the following classes:

Camp Kelvin/Space Pioneers & Games (Ages 4-7)

EGD Platform Games/VEX Robotic Design and Programming (Ages 8-14)

Engineering Olympiad/Robotics Engineering Olympics (Ages 8-14)

Master 3D Printing Minecraft/Computer Building - What's in the Box (Ages 8-14)

Medieval Defense/Robotics Engineering - Amazing Mechanisms (Ages 4-7)

Medieval Machinations/VEX Robotic Design and Programming (Ages 8-14)

Minecraft Adventures/Inventor's Workshop (Ages 4-7)

Software Engineering with Python/Minecraft EDU Travel into the Future (Ages 8-14)

Wings Wheels & Sails/Robotics Engineering Adventure (Ages 4-7)

Additionally, Cinderella Goes Disco, a new, two-week program for children entering grades 2 through 6 will be offered this summer. Children will be given the opportunity to explore a wide variety of performing arts in an encouraging and supportive environment. The class is scheduled to run from Monday, July 23 to Thursday, August 2.

Registration is still available for the following classes starting June 4: Golf Levels 2 and 3, Apache Open Office, Excel Beginning, Microsoft Office Suite, Wine Overview and a new class, Haiku as a Meditative Writing Practice.
