Postal Service delivers through holiday period with Informed Delivery
While many Americans are observing Independence Day with an extended holiday weekend, the United States Postal Service will continue normal retail and delivery operations, including Monday, July 3.
The only exception is Tuesday, July 4, when post offices will suspend retail and delivery operations in observation of Independence Day.
Whether customers are in town or travelling for the holiday, Informed Delivery helps residential customers preview their incoming mail.
More than 2 million customers have already signed up for the free notification service which provides digital outside images of letter-sized mail destined for your home via a daily email or through informeddelivery.usps.com.
More information on the service can be found at www.InformedDelivery.com.
Many post offices offer after-hours automated postal centers that dispense postage. Call 800-ASKUSPS for the location nearest you. Additionally, the 24-hour post office is always open at www.usps.com/shop, or by calling 800-STAMP-24.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
