Dancing, tasting and crafting for all at the Bartlett Library
The Bartlett Library is hosting a "Cultural Finale Party" on Saturday, Feb. 25 from 12-3:30 p.m. There will be crafts, food and dancing during that time frame.
- Crafts 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
- Food 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.
- Dancing 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.
To begin the festivities, the Bartlett Library will provide a variety of cultural crafts that both adults and children can partake in from 12-1 p.m.
- Youth crafts available:
-African masks and necklaces
-Shamrock tissue craft
-Boomerang dot paint
-Mandala coloring
- Adult crafts available:
-Paper lanterns
-Paper fiesta flower pens
-Mandala coloring
And then, from 1-2 p.m., patrons can walk about the library as there will be ethnic foods in a variety of places.
Some local restaurants will be a part of the event, such as Dogfather Hotdogs, The Still Bar and Grill, JC's Mexican Restaurant, Bao Gourmet and more.
To finish off the day, dance instructors from the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in South Barrington will be teaching patrons the salsa and then one more mystery dance from 2:30-3:30 p.m.
Everyone is welcome to come for the entirety of the day, or they can pick and choose what activities they want to come to.
This event is taking place because the Bartlett Library has been celebrating cultures from around the world this past winter. Patrons have been able to step into the Bartlett Library and be brought to the continents of the world. There have been a variety of activities and programs featuring different cultures at the library. The "Cultural Finale Party" is the wrap-up of so many cultural programs, and there is something for everyone at the Feb. 25 program.
