COD Hosts Horticulture Career and Job Fair Feb. 7

The Horticulture program at College of DuPage will host a free Horticulture Career and Job Fair from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, in the Technical Education Center, Room 1038, on the College's main campus, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn.

Geared toward job seekers and community members seeking horticultural and landscaping services, this fair will provide opportunities for networking and employment in the horticultural industry. More than 40 employers will be on hand and COD representatives will be available to provide information on horticultural careers and the Horticulture program at College of DuPage. In addition, individuals can "shop" for landscaping and other services provided by the companies participating in the event.

"Employers at the fair include tree companies, landscape installation and management companies, landscape designers, greenhouses, park districts and even florists," said COD Greenhouse Supervisor Amy Hull. "We have been working hard to add even more companies this year, especially in growing fields such as sustainable urban farming."

Hull said attendees are welcome to bring resumes with them for possible job openings or internship opportunities.

"Employers are so eager to meet our students and graduates as well as interested community members," she said. "It's a great event that keeps growing every year."
