COD Opens 'Fuel' Food Pantry to Help Fight Food Insecurity on Campus

COD student and Phi Theta Kappa President Kristina Clancy marked the official opening of the College's Fuel Pantry during a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by COD students, faculty and staff. The result of a fall 2015 College-wide project examining food insecurity on campus organized by the College's Phi Theta Kappa chapter, the Fuel Pantry is open to COD students, faculty and staff. Phi Theta Kappa's research found that 100 out of 750 College of DuPage students reported having access to only one to two full meals a day or less than a full meal a day. The pantry accepts non-perishable food donations at any time of the year. Donations can be dropped off in the Phi Theta Kappa office in SSC 2212 or the Office of Student Life in SSC 1217. In addition, tax deductible cash donations can be made through the COD Foundation. College identification is required to receive assistance from the pantry.
