Applications Now Accepted for COD Scholars Award Program

Applications are now being accepted for the College of DuPage Scholars Award Program. This year's priority deadline is Monday, Nov. 28, with a final application deadline on Thursday, March 23.

"College of DuPage is giving high-achieving high school students two opportunities to submit their applications for the first time this year," said Shawn Wochner, COD Admissions Representative. "We've added a priority deadline for students who are eager to finish the college selection process early. We also have some students who are completing high school in the fall and are ready to enroll in college."

The Scholars Award Program fall into three categories: Presidential, which covers up to 64 credit hours of in-district tuition; Board of Trustees, $2,500 per year ($1,250 per semester) for up to four semesters; and Deans, which is $1,000 per year ($500 per semester) for up to four semesters. Applicants must be 2016-2017 District 502 high school graduates; have applied for admission to College of DuPage; submit a 500-word essay (topic given at time of application for scholarship); and have a weighted or unweighted high school GPA of 3.8 on a 4.0 scale OR a minimum 29 ACT composite (Presidential Scholar), 3.6 GPA/4.0 OR a minimum 27 composite ACT score (Board of Trustees Scholar), or 3.5 GPA/4.0 OR a minimum 25 composite ACT score (Deans Scholar).

Scholars Award recipients will be notified the weeks of Dec. 19 and April 17.

"Students who submit their applications by the priority deadline but are not accepted will have their applications automatically re-evaluated for the spring deadline," Wochner said. "We may need additional information at that time and will work with the students to obtain what's necessary."
