Lake County 4-H Officer's Training 2014

Lake County 4-H Teens lead the annual officer training on November 11. Thirty five youth participated in a Parliamentary Procedure Jeopardy game created by Avni Patel, learned the importance of being a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer taught by Maddie Currie, Abby Daniels, Charlotte Roberts and parent volunteer Robbie Roberts. Leaders Jennifer Daniels and Jill Hevrdejs worked with the recreational leaders, reporters and historians. The training was completed when Charlotte Roberts conducted a mock Parliamentary Procedure where the group created trail mix by making motions, seconding them, and voting. Positive Youth Development programs work best when they include the sustained, positive youth-adult relationships, Skill building experiences, and Youth engagement and leadership.
