The safety check will be used to detect persons who are operating a motor vehicle with defective equipment, have no valid driver's license or permit, no proof of insurance or are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Plans have been established to conduct the check during hours which will provide the maximum opportunity for detection and apprehension of motorists who drive under the influence of alcohol or other substances.
