Black Tie Gala - A Great Evening

The Lake County Housing Authority's Annual Black Tie Gala for educational scholarships was held on June 27, 2014. It was an evening of great food, exciting entertainment, and exceptional auction lots.

The Lake County Housing Authority, in conjunction with Aim North Development Corporation hosted an evening of dinner, live entertainment, and dancing at its Annual Black Tie Gala on June 27, 2014; 6:00 p.m. to Midnight at the Doubletree Hotel, 510 East Route 83, Mundelein, IL. Two hundred and forty people were in attendance. This special event was highlighted by an impressive array of auction lots, including exotic travel packages to Costa Rica and Mexico, a 50-bottle lot of exquisite wines with a wine tasting for 12, and destination experiences in New York and New Orleans. In addition to the live auction, sports packages including signed memorabilia and games tickets to the Chicago Sky and Cubs, romantic weekend getaways, spa packages, and lawn care merchandise are some of the items offered in the silent auction.

The proceeds from this event will be used to fund academic scholarships for Family Self Sufficiency Program (FSS) participants who are pursuing the goals in their case plan and are attending or planning to attend college or technical training to increase their career opportunities. Participants can also use scholarship funds to help pay for their youth's summer activities.

Aim North Development Corporation is a non-profit organization and contributions and donations are tax deductible.

David A. Northern, Sr. Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer commented, "We had a great evening; and I appreciated the community members coming out to show their support. The support for the Family Self Sufficiency scholarship will definitely have a great impact on participant's lives."
