'Red Letter Jesus' Playing at Provision Theater Brings the Bible to Life, Mesmerizes Audiences

Kicking off Provision Theater's 10th Anniversary Season, critically acclaimed Atlanta-based actor Brad Sherrill performs 'Red Letter Jesus,' an extraordinary one-man dramatic play adapted from the synoptic Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke.

Sherrill is known to audiences world-wide for his compelling presentation of The Gospel of John, which he has performed more than 600 times off-Broadway and in professional theaters and churches throughout the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Ireland.

In Red Letter Jesus, Sherrill brings the bible to life, sharing only Jesus' words, including his teachings and parables, as recorded in the Gospels. To assist in the narrative, a masterfully crafted multimedia presentation created by stage manager Mark Hickman is displayed behind Sherrill, adding a new dimension to the story and bringing dramatic effect to the words.

Red Letter Jesus is playing through October at Provision Theater at 1001 W. Roosevelt Rd. Chicago, IL. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to hear Jesus' words first-hand, this is a must-see! A real treat for "believers," Red Letter Jesus brings the impactful Gospel message to all audiences.

The theater is intimate and the separation between the performance and audience minimal. Instead of being observers, the audience becomes a part of the crowd surrounding Jesus, giving the audience a real sense of what Jesus meant by his words, parables and teachings.

Brad Sherrill is mesmerizing in his portrayal of Jesus. At times soft spoken and compassionate, at other times authoritative and powerful, he transports the audience to biblical times and brings a personal meaning and passion to Jesus' words, delivering on his promise to show what it was like to be a first-century follower of Jesus Christ.

The show is presented as one 95-minute act with no intermission. Performances run September 13 to October 13 at Provision Theater Company in Chicago. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.provisiontheater.org or by calling the box office at 312-455-0066. Parking is free.
