LifeSource Teams With Culver's to Promote Summertime Blood Drive

More than 35 Culver’s restaurants throughout Chicagoland will team with LifeSource, Chicagoland’s Blood Center, for a summertime “Give a Pint, Get a Pint” blood drive. Participating restaurants will host blood drives between July 1 and September 1. All participating donors will receive a complimentary pint of Culver’s famous frozen custard, while participants who pre-register to donate will also receive a complimentary Culver’s value basket.

“Blood donations are typically at their lowest levels during the summer months, and that also happens to be when there is a great need for blood,” said Kevin Weasler, a Chicago area Culver’s owner/operator. “Through the efforts of participating Chicagoland Culver’s restaurants, we will help collect more than 1,000 pints of blood this summer and help save over 3,000 lives.”

Interested donors can pre-register inside their local Culver’s or visit www.lifesource.org for rules and to see dates, times and locations of their nearest Culver’s blood drive event.

It’s easy to donate. The donation process takes about an hour and is both safe and comfortable. Blood donors need to be at least 17-years-old, 16 with written parental consent, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. Most medications are accepted. Please bring photo identification such as a driver’s license, state ID or passport.
