13th annual Hearthstone Centegra Senior Fair is new

The Hearthstone-Centegra Senior Fair, a long-standing McHenry County tradition, has even more to offer this year. Co-host, Centegra Health System is expanding their offerings at the fair to include additional wellness information, more opportunities to speak with physicians about wellness concerns and added no-cost or low-cost screening opportunities.

The fair venue, McHenry County College, is remodeling their commons area and cafeteria and creating a new entrance for easier access to the wellness fair and expo. As always, there is ample free parking.

Joining the fair for the first time is the Jay Mau Orchestra providing music of the Big Band era as well as songs by the Beatles, Bobby Darin and Wayne Newton.

In the expo portion of the fair, guests will see some new vendors as well as those who return each year. The vendors who have registered include 1st Family Home Healthcare, Accuquest Hearing Centers, State Senator Pamela Althoff, Autumn Leaves, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, BrightStar Care of McHenry County, Center for Sight and Hearing, Chez Pierre Creperie, Comfort Keepers, Costco Wholesale, Cremation Society of Illinois, Crossroads Care Center, Eastgate Manor of Algonquin, Edward Jones, Elderwerks and Paxem, Faith In Action of McHenry County, Family Alliance, Home Instead Senior Care, Hospice and Pallative Care of Northeastern Illinois, Humana, Illinois Secretary of State (issuing State ID Cards), MCC RAP (Retired Adult Program at MCC), McHenry Villa, Senior Services Associates, Strelcheck Chiropractic Clinic & Massage, State Representative Mike Tryon, Valley Hi Nursing Home, Veterans Assistance Commission of McHenry County, Wauconda Healthcare, Windridge Memorial Park, and the law offices of Zukowski, Rogers, Flood & McArdle. Home State Bank's Senior Class Club is back again to sponsor the bingo rooms and Chicagoland Senior News, Suburban Woman and Woodstock Independent continue as media sponsors covering the event.

The fair, to be held on Wednesday, August 8th from 10am to 2pm, is an expo of services, products, information and wellness geared toward those ages 50 and older, as well as a day of fun and entertainment. Additional Fair activities include an expo of more than 80 businesses, government and non-profit organizations with information for seniors and their loved ones. A free lunch will be offered (while supplies last) and the ever-popular Bingo is available to all fair attendees. After paying the $ 1 admission, all Fair activities are free.
