Loretto Lundh of St. Charles asks Andy Surratt of American Legion Post 942 in St. Charles Sunday about the scale model of the World War II memorial in Washington D.C, that was unveiled. Lundhs father served in World War II and she came to honor him. The Pillars of Honor, a group from Des Plaines that organized the event, brought the traveling model to the Batavia VFW Post 1197 on River Road. It will be displayed in the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. later.

The day after the Bears were defeated by the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship game, players returned to Halas Hall for the last time this season to clean out their lockers. Bears running back and special teams player Garrett Wolfe was clearing out roughly 16 pairs of shoes, not counting the ones he was wearing at the time.
