Dr. Rise Jones of Elgin sings at the 26th-annual Prayer Breakfast at Elgin Community Colleges Business Conference Center on Saturday, January 15 in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The day-long event started with a breakfast and concluded with a musical program. Dr. Jones is part of the non-for-profit Elgin organization Hamilton Wings, an arts organization for diverse, economically and socially disadvantaged children.

A group called VOCE from Naperville performed at the first Napervilles Got Talent! variety show at Neuqua Valley High School. Out of roughly 60 acts, judges had narrowed it down to only 18 acts to take the stage. Tickets were $10 a piece with proceeds going to the DuPage Public Action.

When 10-year-old Rick Stevenson took the stage the crowd lit up. Stevenson started dancing at age 4, and proclaims Michael Jackson as his favorite singer. Stevenson has performed at numerous charity events prior to competing.
