25th annual Letter Carriers' Food Drive set for May 13

Celebrating its 25th year, the Letter Carriers' Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive aims to break last year's record haul of 80 million pounds of food - and there is a very easy way to help!

Just leave a bag of nonperishable food by your mailbox on Saturday, May 13 (the earlier in the day the better). To find out if your letter carrier is taking part in the food drive, just contact your local post office and ask to speak to your local food drive person.

Locally collected donations will go to a local food pantry or bank - you can call your post office to find out exactly which facility will receive your donation.

Last year, they collected more than 80 million pounds of food nationally, feeding an estimated 64 million people.

Over the course of its 24-year history, the drive has collected 1.5 billion pounds of food, thanks to a postal service universal delivery network that spans the entire nation, including Puerto Rico, Guam and U.S. Virgin Islands.

This is a great chance for you to help make sure our local food pantries stay well stocked throughout the year!
