Library Closure Extended and Other Updates

In light of the Governor's Executive Order that was announced on April 24, 2020, the Bartlett Public Library District must extend its closure through the end of May 2020. This date may change if the Governor updates the order.

The public does not need to worry about returning anything during this time as overdue fines are still not being applied to checked out items. The Library's book drop remains closed until further notice.

BPLD patrons may sign up for an eCard to access the Library's online resources such as Libby, Hoopla, Freegal Music, Flipster and more. These are downloadable and streaming services that allow BPLD patrons to watch TV, listen to music, read eBooks, listen to eAudiobooks and more. Click here to get an eCard: https://bit.ly/BPLDeCard.

There have been a few changes since the last BPLD update for its online programming:

-The Library has added an Online Movie Club where participants will watch a specific movie on their own and then discuss it via Zoom. Learn more about the first meeting here (Thursday, April 30, 2020 at 7 p.m.): https://bit.ly/2VUtvpU

-The Tuesday Trivia program has been so popular that the Library has increased how many people can participate. The game will now allow up to 100 people at a time.

-The BookLite book discussion group has been a Facebook Group for a while, but now they have started participating in Zoom meetings as well.

-Submissions for a Creative Writing Contest are being accepted from April 22, 2020 - May 20, 2020. The contest is for grades 4-12 and entries have a 1,500 words maximum. Submit works here: bpldteen@bartlettlibrary.org.
