Chicago Wolves Blood Drive March 25 in Rosemont

Vitalant (formerly LifeSource), Chicagoland's largest provider of blood collection services, announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with The Chicago Wolves of the American Hockley League (AHL) and that the two will partner to host a blood drive on Wednesday, March 25, 2-8 p.m., at the Skyline Room at Allstate Arena in Rosemont.

Wolves mascot Skates along with several current players are scheduled to meet and greet donors, while tours of the team's locker room will be offered. In addition, all presenting donors will be provided two complimentary ticket vouchers, a limited-edition Vitalant/Chicago Wolves T-shirt, Chicago Wolves hat, and entered into a drawing to win a Chicago Wolves jersey.

"We know the need for blood donors is more crucial than ever," said Greg Sprott, the Chicago Wolves' Senior Director of Partnership Sales. "We're sure that Wolves fans will be eager to help Vitalant on March 25 - and many will want to become consistent donors in the future."

"We're grateful to the Chicago Wolves for joining us in helping raise awareness about the importance of blood donation," said Vitalant's Holly Seese. "The Wolves have done a wonderful job providing a conduit for families to reconnect and enjoy time together. Thousands of families all across the area are impacted every day by a loved one needing a life-saving blood or platelet transfusion. And that's only made possible through the selfless act of a blood donor."

Appointments are highly recommended, but walk-ins are welcome. To schedule your appointment, visit www.vitalant.org and search for Group Code RS20 or call (877) 258-4825.

For those unable to donate at The Wolves Blood Drive, blood donations are still encouraged and can be made by visiting any of Vitalant's 17 community donor centers located in the city and throughout the suburbs. Convenient day, evening and weekend hours are available at most locations. To find the nearest community donation center, visit www.vitalant.org.

In preparation for their donation, donors are asked to eat well, stay hydrated and arrive with proper identification. The donation appointment takes about an hour (with the donation itself only around ten minutes) and is both safe and comfortable. Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years of age with parental consent).
