Chicago Bears Unveil 2019 "Real Bears Fans Wear Pink" Shirts
The Chicago Bears unveiled the 2019 "Real Bears Fans Wear Pink" shirt design in partnership with Advocate Health Care, Official Health Care Partner of the Chicago Bears. Shirts will be available for purchase online at chicagobears.com/pink for $30 each starting today. Proceeds benefit Bears Care and help fund local programs which provide care, assistance and support services to breast cancer patients and their families, including helping facilitate timely access to critical breast health services for low-income women. This year's shirt is long sleeved and design elements celebrate the centennial season and emphasize wearing pink to message the importance of screening and early detection in fighting breast cancer.
On Sept. 25, Bears Care held their annual Season Opener Luncheon at Halas Hall, where they distributed $140,000 to charitable partners who provide critical support and services to women in the Chicago area; Advocate Health Care's Dr. Heidi Memmel spoke at the event. The Bears and Advocate Health Care also held a "Monday Night Lights" pep rally on Sept. 30 at Maine East High School to kick off the campaign.
The Chicago Bears and Bears Care will officially recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month on Oct. 20, when the Bears host the New Orleans Saints at Soldier Field. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game to show their support. During the week leading into the game, Bears players will wear special white and pink Advocate Health Care patches on their practice jerseys, some of which will be auctioned off to fans via the free Chicago Bears Official App brought to you by Verizon; additional details will be announced at a later date.
