Habeeb Quadri is the First Islamic School Principal to be Named NAESP National Distinguished Principal

Skokie, IL (July 17, 2019) - MCC Academy would like to congratulate Habeeb Quadri for being selected to represent private schools as a National Distinguished Principal. It is because student success is linked to principal leadership that the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) recognizes accomplished elementary and middle-level principals from private and public schools as a part of its annual National Distinguished Principals (NDP) program, established in 1984. The 2019 class of NDPs will be honored during a two-day event in Washington, D.C. that culminates with an awards banquet on October 11.

Mr. Quadri's dedication and commitment of serving as principal of MCC Academy for 15 years has led him to this recognition and achievement, awarded only to five individuals out of all principals who have served at over 30,000 private school across the nation. In addition to teaching and administering in both public and private schools, Mr. Quadri works as a public speaker, author, and active participant and mentor in numerous local and national organizations. His commitment to academic excellence led to the nomination for NDP made by the Council of Islamic Schools in North America (CISNA) whose membership in the Council for American Private Education (CAPE) provided the opportunity to participate. Through a rigorous five-month long application and selection process, including interviews, recommendation letters, and essays submitted, Mr. Quadri was the finalist from the CISNA nominees. He then competed at the national level in NAESP resulting in his selection as one of five private school principals. One principal from each state is selected from public schools.

MCC Academy is a state-recognized, parochial elementary institution, nationally accredited by AdvancEd and CISNA. The curriculum of the school is aligned with standards proposed by ISBE (Illinois State Board of Education).
