COD's Library Hosts 'Communication: Our Rewired Minds' Sept. 21

The College of DuPage Library will host "Communication: Our Rewired Minds" from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21, in the Student Resource Center, Room 2000, on the Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.

The event, which is part of the Library's 2017-2018 Thematic Focus: Technology and Society faculty panel presentations, is free and open to the public.

"Communication: Our Rewired Minds" features an interdisciplinary exploration of the intersection of communication and technology. Panelists include Anthropology Professor Alexander Bolyanatz, Computer Information Systems Professor Carolyn England, Associate Professor and Reference Librarian Jason Ertz, Philosophy/Religious Studies Professor Eva Maria Räpple, and Speech Instructor Brandon Wood.

The Thematic Focus series encourages students to explore diverse questions, methods and materials in studying a selected yearly topic from various viewpoints through the lenses of different disciplines.

The next Thematic Focus presentation, "On the Nature of Time," will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, in the Student Services Center, Room 2201.
