HHelp Countryside Fire District earn grant funds

Countryside Fire District is always seeking revenue sources that can assist with fire prevention programs due to diminishing tax-based funds, and has applied for grants to help with maintaining fire and life safety education programs.

Currently, Countryside Fire District has qualified for a Step Up and Stand Out $3,000 Grant by producing a video demonstrating how they promote fire safety in their community. The video that receives the most votes by Sept. 30 will earn the grant.

The public can go to www.facebook.com/countrysidefiredist and click on the video for the Step Up and Stand Out Video Contest and vote.

Countryside Fire District has a nationally recognized program that visits each grade level, K-8, twice a year among nine elementary and five middle schools and a strong presence at Vernon Hills High School.

The fire district participates within Illinois at the state and Lake County levels, and will use the grant funds to assist in its local Fire and Life Safety Education programs.
