World Lutheran Deaf Outreach to offer workshop in East Dundee
World Lutheran Deaf Outreach located in Janesville, Wis., is presenting the workshop "Jesus Signs" Oct. 14-16 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in East Dundee.
This seminar provides resources and training specifically designed for deaf and hearing people to learn and share more about the love of Jesus. This seminar will give Chicago area residents an opportunity to expand their skill-sets in witnessing and evangelizing.
The Rev. William "Bud" Palmer is the lead educator at this event. He has traveled the world, sometimes on his Harley, bringing the word of God to deaf people. He continues to work with deaf evangelists and leaders, training them in the catechism and developing educational materials for lay people. Pastor Bud will be joined by several other professional signers who will instruct attendees. People who are considered at the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels are encouraged to attend. Participants can expect to learn several common prayers along with Bible basics. Deaf instructors will also teach classes specifically for deaf people.
The seminar begins at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14. While the lesson portion of the seminar ends at 6 p.m. on Saturday attendees are invited to worship with Immanuel as interpreters will be present. Individuals who are licensed interpreters and complete the seminar will be awarded one full CEU credit.
Registration is $25 per person and $30 to receive one full CEU. Lunch and dinner will be provided by Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Parking is free and located adjacent to the church building.
