Bartlett Library hosts DIY book craft program

At the Bartlett Library, 4th-8th graders were able to get crafty with a variety of unique DIY book crafts!

They could choose to do a book page wreath, a banner, a 3D letter/initial or a circular, folded fan. All of the crafts were made out of old or damaged books that the Bartlett Library no longer circulates.

One of the patrons in attendance was Samantha Anderson, 10. Her mother, Lynn Anderson, brought her into the Library so she could participate in the program.

"Samantha loves the Library," Lynn Anderson said. "We can easily come here every week; [the Bartlett Library] has the best programs. As soon as we get the newsletter in the mail, we register for the programs that we want to go to right away."

Samantha made a myriad of crafts; she enjoyed the program greatly.

Everyone else in attendance had a fun time as well. Glitter was everywhere, everyone was bonding and laughs were plentiful. One of the girls even said that she would like to see a program like this one become a monthly club.

The next art program at the Bartlett Library is Drop-In Crafts on Friday, March 18 at 3 p.m. Patrons can join the Youth & Teen Services Department for a fun and creative craft! Children under age 8 must be accompanied by a caregiver age 16 or older.
