Chicago Botanic Garden joins #GivingTuesday movement

The Chicago Botanic Garden joins the global movement to have philanthropic dollars make a difference on #GivingTuesday, Dec. 1. The Garden's goal is 200 gifts by 11:59 p.m. to secure a challenge gift of $25,000, with funds used to cultivate, restore and conserve the plants that inspire.

Chicago Magazine has named the Chicago Botanic Garden one of the 20 best charities in Chicago to support this holiday season. #GivetotheGarden donations on #GivingTuesday will go to the Garden's annual fund, which supports garden displays and critical scientific, education, wellness, urban agriculture and jobs training programs that help people understand, value and protect the plants sustaining the world.

Since its founding in 2012, #GivingTuesday has inspired giving around the world, resulting in greater donations, volunteer hours and activities that bring about real change in communities.

Garden supporters can help spread the word about #GivetotheGarden on #GivingTuesday by signing up for email updates and following the Garden on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram.
