Local Songwriter Records New Song
Local songwriter, Mark B Heller of Round Lake IL., records new song with Danny 'Tulsa Time' Flowers in Fort Wayne Indiana.
In a once in a lifetime opportunity , a local songwriter who has been playing the circuit throughout Lake County Illinois, got to record an original song of his, ‘Gimme a Kiss’, with the legendary great Danny Flowers of Tulsa Time fame. It was a fantastic experience Mark explains, not only getting input from an experienced professional like Danny Flowers, but to spend a day in the recording studio with him cutting the final mix.
The entire band was just phenomenal, Mark continues, quickly taking my original song to the next level. I was surrounded by professional’s way beyond my talent, but they treated me like an equal. Nobody had an ego; to them, I was just one of the guys.
The recording process was way more involved than I expected but the final result was worth it. Danny Flowers had a live show in Fort Wayne, Indiana the day after our recording session and I even got to go on stage and open the show with my own song with Danny beside me and the rest of the band backing us up.
I’ve written so many songs over the last 40 something years, I know this won’t be the last I record; it’s only the first, but I’ll never forget the experience.
