FIA to organize Indian heritage event with Windy City Bulls
Elmhurst, IL: Federation of Indian Associations, Chicago, (http://www.fia-il.com/), will organize an Indian heritage event on Friday, January 6th, as its first project for 2017, in partnership with Windy City Bulls, the official NBA D-League Affiliate of the Chicago Bulls. The basketball sport event will take place at Sears Center Arena, from 7 PM.

On this evening, Westchester Knicks vs. Windy City Bulls will be playing. The program will include special pre-game music demonstrations, Indian and American national anthem played before the game, halftime performance by a local Indian dance group, concourse displays featuring local Indian community businesses and organizations, special Indian food available throughout the evening from local restaurant: Sai Saffron. Discounted group ticket packages are also available.
The above decision was taken at the FIA meeting held Sunday, at Waterford Banquet in Elmhurst, Illinois.
At this meeting, Mukesh Shah was elected as FIA's new president for 2017.
"I feel honored and humbled to step forward to lead this organization, which has taken several initiatives in promoting our Indian culture," said Shah, who is also a former president of the Gujarati Samaj.
