COD Hosts 'Pack the Place' Men's, Women's Basketball Event Feb. 4

Help cheer on the College of DuPage Chaparral men's and women's basketball team at a "Pack the Place" basketball double-header Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Physical Education Center Arena on the Glen Ellyn campus, 425 Fawell Blvd.

Held as part of the College's ongoing 50th Anniversary celebration, the event features the Chaparral women's and men's basketball teams taking on the Harper College Hawks. The women's game begins at 1 p.m., followed by the men's game at 3 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.

During the half-time of each game, one COD student will be chosen at random to participate in a half-court shot competition, earning a chance to win free tuition for one semester (up to $1,620 or 12 credit hours at $135 each).

In addition, representatives from student organizations, athletic teams and College departments will participate in a three-point shot competition. A shooter and rebounder from each group will have just 30 seconds to make as many three-point shots as possible.

Every attendee will receive a COD T-shirt and basketball team photos. Special meet and greets with the athletes will be held after each game, giving fans a chance to get autographs and take pictures. The College pep band and cheer squad will provide entertainment during each game and COD's football team will present its trophy from the inaugural Red Grange Bowl held this past December and the College's cross country, women's soccer and men's golf teams will be honored for their championship seasons.
