Nonprofit serving people with intellectual/developmental disabilities to host first annual 5K run/1 mile walk in Arlington Heights
Clearbrook will host its first Step It Up for Clearbrook 5K Run/1-Mile Walk on Sept. 21. Clearbrook, an organization dedicated to providing innovative services, opportunities, and supports to more than 8,000 people impacted by intellectual/developmental disabilities.
Kicking off at 8 a.m. at Cronin Park, S. Vail Avenue and W. South Street in Arlington Heights, Step It Up for Clearbrook will have something for everyone, from the serious runner to a family looking to give back to a good cause.
The fee to register is $25 for runners/walkers or $35 for timed/chipped runners. There will be a Kids Dash and Fun Zone with face painting, crafts, a bounce slide and more.
The registration fee includes an event T-shirt, sponsor goodies and food/drink at the event.
Proceeds from this event will benefit Clearbrook, which provides personalized children's, adult day, employment, residential and clinical services at more than 50 locations throughout Northern Illinois. It is the largest provider of home-based services in the state. Employing more than 900 people, 92 percent of every dollar raised goes directly into programs and services.
