American Cancer Society to host 13th annual Discovery Ball April 27
The American Cancer Society's 13th annual Discovery Ball will be held on Saturday, April 27, at the Hilton Chicago, 720 S. Michigan Ave.
More than 900 guests are expected to attend including corporate sponsors, business owners and philanthropic leaders.
The event leadership includes: Chris Clark of Motorola Solutions Inc.; Dana Holmes of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois; Fred Karutz of AIM Specialty Health; Andrea Marks of OptumRx; Randy L. Nornes of Aon; Tyler Prince of Salesforce; and Chad Schafer of Sidley Austin LLP.
Since 2007, the annual Discovery Ball has raised over $34 million to support the American Cancer Society's mission to save lives and create a world with less cancer by helping people stay well and get well.

Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with a pre-event reception which includes a silent auction followed by an elegant dinner, inspiring program, live auction and a late-night party concert. It is a black-tie event, with tuxedos for men and ballgowns for women.
The Discovery Ball is one of Chicago's premier cancer fundraising events. Over the years, guests have been entertained by Natalie Cole, Kevin Nealon, Billy Gardell, Keith Urban, Paul Reiser, Hunter Hayes and Colbie Caillat. Celebrity emcees have included Katie Couric, Maria Bartiromo and James Corden.
Discovery Ball donations will support the mission of the American Cancer Society as it works to save lives and create a world with less cancer by helping people stay well and get well, by finding cures and by fighting back.
Over 1.7 million new cancer cases are expected to be diagnosed in the United States this year, and more than 609,000 Americans will lose their battle. That's more than 1,600 people a day. Help them move one step closer to a world free from the pain and suffering of cancer by celebrating with them at the Discovery Ball.
