Operation Support Our Troops to host 12th annual Rockin' For The Troops concert

Operation Support Our Troops-America recently announced that tickets are now on sale for the 12th annual Rockin' For the Troops, a musical day of support for the military. The fundraising concert will be held on Saturday, July 14, in the music garden at Northwestern Medicine Field, the home of the Kane County Cougars in Geneva.

Proceeds will benefit the nonprofit organization's mission to support the morale and well-being of American forces and their families.

The Naperville-based organization, celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, is one of the largest volunteer-based military support organizations in the country. Operation Support Our Troops-America delivers comfort and care packages to deployed troops around the world and offers a wide variety of supportive programs and services.

Gates open at 3 p.m. with music starting at 3:30 p.m. Rockin' for the Troops features five musical acts bringing their own style and connection to our military. The evening kicks off with The Voices followed by 7th Heaven, Ayla Brown, Rockie Lynne. Country music artist and retired Army combat veteran Ryan Weaver closes the show.

"Our operation has grown in size and offerings to support the ongoing needs of our active duty military, veterans and their families. Rockin' for the Troops is our annual fundraiser that helps us support our twofold mission to care for military communities both home and away," said Jamie Nelson, an Air Force veteran and executive director of Operation Support Our Troops-America. "Music gives us an opportunity to band together as supporters and send that love and assistance around the world where our Troops need it the most," she added.

Attendees will enjoy great music, special tributes to all branches of the U.S. military and a 50/50 raffle. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. General admission seating is available for $25 each. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

Since 2003, Operation Support Our Troops-America, a four-star charity navigator ranked nonprofit organization has shipped over 2 million pounds of goods to troops deployed in dangerous places around the world. Operation Support Our Troops offers valuable programs and services to veterans including transformational grief support for 360 families of the fallen with the Leap of Faith program; G.I. About The Bands

Ryan Weaver is a rockin' country music artist who is a retired Army combat veteran. Ryan is a Gold Star family member, losing both his brother and brother-in-law in combat and brings a unique blend of high octane original songs and rockin' cover material combined with a heartfelt message and genuine humor. Rockie Lynne has a lifelong interest in music and passion for our military community. After high school, Rockie joined the Army where he served in the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg and became founder of the nonprofit Tribute to Our Troops supporting Gold Star families with motorcycle parades that show them support. Ayla Brown, a daughter of a retired colonel of the Massachusetts Army National Guard, understands the sacrifices military families make for our country as she sings both original country songs and covers of popular music.

7th Heaven, known for their 30 songs in 30 minutes medley, is returning to the Rockin' stage playing original music. The Voices, one of the Midwest's most dynamic, entertaining groups, will get the crowd ready to dance as they take you back to the great hits of the Motown era. Several members of The Voices are veterans and have been a fan and participating in Rockin' For The Troops since its inception 12 years ago.
