COD Hosts Floral Design Career Development Competition

Forty-one students representing seven high schools recently participated in the 9th annual Floral Design Career Development Event held in the Technical Education Center at College of DuPage's Glen Ellyn campus. Teams of up to five students from area schools including Byron, Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences, Lockport Township, Naperville Central, Neuqua Valley, Oswego and Waubonsie Valley, competed in a series of contests such as corsage and floral arrangement making. In addition, participants sat for a written exam, took an identification test and watched a demonstration presented by a professional florist.
