Local chapter to help The Harbour's Transitional Living Program

On September 12, 2012, chapter members and affiliates from all over the greater Chicago area will be donating their time, talents and products to address the needs of the TLP facility.

This project is part of the larger international World Wide Service Staging Week (WWSSW), September 12-19, 2012. During this week, Accredited Staging Professionals (ASPs) and their chapter affiliates give back to the community in a united effort as members of IAHSP.

The Transitional Living Program was established in 1988 and the Schaumburg location is one of six sites scattered throughout the north and northwest suburbs. The program provides supervised living for homeless girls, ages 16-21, as they develop skills that enhance school and vocational success, competency and self-reliance. As a result, they are less likely to experience future homelessness or need public assistance. While in the program, the girls are expected to work 10-20 hours per week and bank 65% of their earnings.
