25 Years Riding for Little Angels

Ask anyone about Little Angels, and you're bound to hear about the Little Angels Pledge Run. 25 years is a long time for any event; and through the years, the Pledge Run has made a real difference in the lives of the children and young adults at Little Angels.

Little Angels is a loving home for children and young adults with severe developmental disabilities and complex medical needs. It is a state-of-the art facility that offers round-the-clock nursing, therapeutic and habilitation services in a warm, caring environment; and provides highly specialized care to 57 children and young adults. The Cathy Freeman Center for Developmental Training is a therapeutic training program for young adults with severe disabilities.

The Little Angels Pledge Run is one of the best know charity rides in the Midwest. Since 1988, it has raised over $4.5 million dollars for the residents of Little Angels. Past Pledge Run proceeds have helped in the purchase of specialized equipment, adapted transportation and necessary medical supplies. Funds from the Little Angels Pledge Run also assisted in the construction of a new residential wing and the Cathy Freeman Center for Developmental Training.

Riders will enjoy an 80 mile ride through the Northern Illinois countryside, and end the day with a party at Woodstock Harley-Davidson including food, games, prizes and live music. “This will be my 21st year. After all these years of being part of this run, it's a pleasure to continue on with such a great run for a great cause” says rider Frank Frosolone.

Gates open at 10:00am on May 20, 2012. First bike leaves at 10:30am. Party begins at 1:00pm. All makes and models of bikes are welcome. For more information and to register, visit the Little Angels Pledge Run website at www.LApledgerun.com or contact Denise at 847-741-1609 x 100.

The 2012 Pledge Run is sponsored by the Elgin Area Organization of Harley Owners; in partnership with Woodstock Harley-Davidson. Additional sponsors include McHenry Harley-Davidson, McHenry County Road Pirates, The Schaumburg Hoffman Lion's Club and Cobra Concrete Cutting Services Co.
