Archeologists and antiques dealers are history detectives who study material evidence of diverse human cultures. Become a history detective, at least for an afternoon. Participate in the thrill of the hunt on March 12-13 at the 54th annual Spring Fox Valley Antiques Show & Sale in St. Charles.

Discover antiques from the 17th to early 20th century gathered, carefully researched and authenticated by 55 "invitation only" dealers from 14 states.

"Dig" Garfield Farm Museum's exhibit of archeological finds revealing the various types of tools, weapons and household goods used in northern Illinois by Native Americans as well as by our first settlers.

Produced by the Chicago Suburban Antiques Dealers Association, the show celebrates our heritage by collaborating with its sponsor, Garfield Farm Museum in LaFox. This museum is the only surviving, historically-intact Illinois farmstead being restored as a working 1840's living-history farm and inn, a true asset for teaching American history.

Connect with others who love antiques and history. Share knowledge and exchange stories. Networking with the dealers at the Fox Valley Antiques Show is always welcome and often yields surprising results.

In the late 1990s, Tim Chambers of Missouri Plain Folk, Sikeston, Mo., met Selby Shaver at the Fox Valley Antiques Show. Selby had assembled an amazing collection of handmade 19th-century game boards and with Tim's help, the collection grew. In 2001, Tim and Selby published "The Art of the Game" featuring Selby's collection. It was the first in this format and remains the foremost book dedicated to the subject of folk art game boards.

To celebrate the book's 10th anniversary at the site of its inception, a 40 percent discount off the book's retail price will be extended to Fox Valley Antiques Show customers.

An added value, attendees are invited to any of the free, educational 5-Minute Antiques Schools taking place throughout the weekend. Join their expert dealers for an entertaining series of mini lectures including Tim Chambers on "The Art of the Game - Game Boards"; Lee Marks on "Painted Furniture"; and Chuck Atten on "Antique Firearms".
