Don't cut your Thanksgiving dinner short and risk life and limb at retail stores on Black Friday when you can get your holiday gifts for your loved ones right at home! Community Education Foundation's 2013 Online Auction goes live on eBay starting Black Friday, November 29-December 8.

This year's online auction offers over 100 holiday gift items including: autographed memorabilia, family fun packages, food and wine experiences, golf foursomes, health and fitness items, tickets to sporting events and theaters, fine arts pieces, travel destinations, and much more.

One unique item in particular this year is a Mike Ditka art piece that's valued at $1,500-$2,000. This Art Mobb piece measures 24 in. x 36 in. and is made of plexiglass. Art Mobb is based in Los Angeles and its art pieces, created by its founder Michael Farhat and other artists, are popular among celebrities and professional athletes. Farhat uses plexiglass as a one-of-a-kind medium to create works of art that captures his subject's "emotion or a moment in time" expression.

Also on the auction block are signed jerseys including several from the Blackhawks' championship team, a signed Bulls' Derrick Rose jersey, and a signed Bears' Jay Cutler jersey; you can also bid on an Ernie Banks signed baseball bat, a framed autographed Taylor Swift CD and two of her guitar picks, a bespoke hands-on cooking and dining experience, an in-home wine tasting party, and much more.

"This is a terrific opportunity for the Foundation's friends and supporters to name their price on wonderful items and experiences for holiday gifts, while supporting Community Education's many vital community-based programs and services," said Mike Field, Community Education director.

"I encourage all the families and friends of District 214 to spread the word and support our auction. Your generosity will go a long way toward making somebody's holiday brighter and more meaningful this year, while improving the quality of life in our communities at the same time," Field added.

Proceeds from the online auction will benefit programs such as English as a Second Language (ESL) for adults, the Catherine M. Lee Women's & Children's, Adult Education & Family Literacy, Adult Basic Education, Intergenerational and Older Adult programs, and Cultural & Performing Arts.
