St. Charles Singles Club plans breakfast, chili cookoff and dances

In addition to the scheduled dances on the second and fourth Mondays of each Monday, the St. Charles Singles Club will host the live band, The Sting Rays, on Aug. 31 at Villa Olivia, 1401 Lake St. (Route 20 and Naperville Road) in Bartlett. The dance will be held from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Cost is $8 for members or $12 for visitors. Dress is casual, but no jeans, please.

"Breakfast in the Park" is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12 from 8 a.m. to noon. Singles, age 40 and older, are invited to join them at Fabyan Forest Preserve, Route 25, just north of Fabyan Parkway in Geneva. They will meet on the east side of the preserve, opposite the windmill. Eggs, bacon, ham, and coffee will be provided. Bring a dish to pass. There is no fee for this event. After the breakfast, there will be an opportunity to attend the Gifford Park Association's Historic Elgin House Tour, which requires a ticket purchase. They will be back in Geneva for the Chili Cook-Off on Sunday, Oct. 11. It will be held at Wheeler Park. The park entrance off Route 31 in Geneva, several blocks north of Route 38 (State Street). The cost is expected to be $3. More details on this event will be added to the newsletter and the activity calendar online, as available.
