Huskie coaches hitting the road for summer circuit

Northern Illinois University Athletics is loading up its bus with prizes and is hitting the road in June to see Huskie alumni and fans.

NIU Associate Vice President and Athletic Director Sean T. Frazier and head coaches, including football coach Rod Carey, men's basketball coach Mark Montgomery and women's basketball coach Kathi Bennett, will be in Chicago, Rockford and Aurora to share Huskie news with fans.

The Huskie Summer Circuit will debut in Chicago from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, June 2, when the NIU bus will bring Frazier and coaches to Joe's on Weed St., 940 W. Weed St.

The Huskie pack will travel Tuesday, June 3, to Franchesco's Ristorante, 7182 Spring Creek Road in Rockford, and then will head Wednesday, June 4, to The Foundry, 85 Executive Drive in Aurora. Both events will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

"The Summer Circuit is a great way for our athletics administrators and head coaches to meet our fans and alumni in a fun and casual setting," Frazier said. "I look forward to loading up the bus here in DeKalb with our staff and coaches and taking this group across the region."

Each stop on the Huskie Summer Circuit will have music, appetizers, a cash bar and a raffle for great prizes, such as tickets to NIU sporting events and golf packages. Frazier and head coaches will speak to fans about Huskie news and provide information on season tickets and becoming a donor to the Huskie Athletic Fund.

Everyone is invited to join the fun. Call (815) 753-PACK (7225) or register online (go.niu.edu/RyK3jL) for any of the three events for just $5. On the day of the event, the cost is $10 per person.

NIU football season tickets are on sale now.
