The Illinois Brass Band Presents 'An Evening With Sousa'

The Illinois Brass Band Presents

"An Evening With Sousa"

Join The Illinois Brass Band on Sunday, October 19, 2014 as they present a tribute to the March King, John Philip Sousa, in Palatine's historic Cutting Hall at 7:00 PM.

The band's Sousa themed performance will be comprised of pieces played by the famed John Philip Sousa band during their heyday of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The concert will feature works by Von Suppe, Grainger, Vaughan Williams, Clarke, Pryor, Strauss, Puccini, and, of course, many famous and recognizable marches by the March King himself.

Mr. Mark Ponzo, cornetist; Mr. Joseph Beribak, xylophonist; and Miss Amy Keipert, vocalist, will be the featured soloists during this historic recreation of a Sousa era concert. Dr. Pete Griffin will conduct the band in the role of John Philip Sousa.

The Illinois Brass Band is a six time national champion of the North American Brass Band Association and is in its 23rd year of performing.
