Oct. 13: ‘Almost Elton John and the Rocket Band’ to perform at CLC
“Remember When Rock Was Young,” a tribute that celebrates decades of chart-topping Elton John songs, comes to the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts at the College of Lake County at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13.
Almost Elton John and the Rocket Band starring Craig A Meyer is a spectacular tribute that celebrates the character, costumes and charisma of the famed pianist and singer and totally entertains audiences with Sir Elton John’s chart topping hits, including: “Benny and the Jets,” “Philadelphia Freedom,” “Crocodile Rock,” “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” and “Candle in the Wind.” Multiple award winning actor/singer Craig A Meyer uses his remarkable resemblance and uncanny ability to sound like the legendary star in this fast-moving show.
Craig A Meyer has appeared in regional theatre, in films, TV shows and much more. On Broadway, Meyer created the role of Clinton Badger in MGM’s classic “Meet Me In St. Louis” and toured nationally in “Cats” as Skimbleshanks, The Red Caboose in “Starlight Express” and Mike Nulty in “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas.” He has toured and recorded with legends Frankie Valli and Barry Manilow, who said that “Craig A Meyer is one of the most talented people I have ever worked with. He can do anything!” Meyer has also headlined for Princess Cruises around the world.
