- Article
For the third straight year, Barrington Middle School student Pranav Sivakumar won the Lake County Final spelling bee.
Pranav, an eighth-grader at the school's Station Campus, won the competition at the College of Lake County on Wednesday. Twelve students from various schools participated.
Pranav won the title in 2011 and 2012, too.
Pranav now will move on to the Scripps National Spelling Bee, set for May 26 through June 1 in Washington, D.C. The Lake County regional office of education and the Jelly Belly Candy Co. will cover the cost of the trip.
