Naperville Chorus 'Carols, Cocoa and Karolju' Heralds Start of Holiday Season in Suburbs

The Naperville Chorus was founded in 1976 as an organization dedicated to the advancement of choral music and the encouragement of cultural music in the community.

Celebrating 41 years of bringing choral music to the Chicago Suburbs, the Chorus presents "Carols, Cocoa, and Karolju-A Concert of Carols Old and Faux" directed by Jeordano "Pete" Martinez with full professional orchestra.

This concert features Christmas Carols in different formats. In Karolju the Pulitzer-Prize-winning composer imagines Christmas carols in many languages. But don't listen too closely or you will quickly discover that they make no sense! This will be an area premiere for this piece. In Many Moods of Christmas and in Christmas Cantata Robert Shaw and Robert Russell Bennett take a more traditional route for Christmas music with arrangements and orchestration of Christmas Carols that will brighten your Christmas. To further warm your spirits, complementary cocoa will be served during intermission in the lobby. Tickets start at $20 and may be purchased from chorus members, by phone (630-637- SHOW(7469)) or in person from the North Central College Box Office located in the Fine Arts Center and Wentz Concert Hall (open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm). Tickets are also available at http://finearts.NorthCentralCollege.edu
