Veterans invited to sign up for virtual resume workshops

Google and the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs (IDVA) announced the launch of virtual resume workshops between Google volunteers and Illinois veterans.

"Illinois veterans are highly insightful and valuable employees," said IDVA Director Linda Chapa LaVia. "We're grateful that Google is hosting virtual workshops to help Illinois veterans and their families translate their military experience into meaningful careers."

The virtual 1:1 resume workshops are open to veterans, military spouses and transitioning service members interested in reviewing their resume, conducting an informational chat or discussing their career transition.

Google has been hosting in-person veteran resume workshops for 10-plus years across the country and in its Chicago office. Google volunteers have been trained to offer insightful advice to help veterans utilize their backgrounds and transition to new careers.

Veterans, military spouses and transitioning service members who are interested in the program can sign up on the Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs website at www2.illinois.gov/veterans or grow.google/veterans by June 5.

Selected participants will be introduced to a Google partner, who will coordinate a time and date to connect for a 30-minute virtual session.
