Midwest Young Artists Conservatory offers 'Summer Music Staycation'
The Midwest Young Artists Conservatory launches a new tuition-free music program, "Summer Music Staycation," with rich and diverse offerings for students of all ages who will be able to participate from anywhere.
MYAC's expert faculty, along with a team of renowned guest artists and master teachers, will bring their knowledge into the homes of young musicians at no cost to families.
Students from MYAC and beyond may join this special summer session of offerings.
The Summer Music Staycation program offers courses for elementary and high school age orchestra, jazz, choral, flute and chamber musicians. Adults are welcome to join as well.
Students will continue developing and advancing their musicianship over the summer months, and may choose from master classes, improvisation courses, literature classes, conducting classes, music history, theory and aural skills, and special sessions on physical fitness for musicians, stage presence and creating your portfolio and resume.
Some of the programs are "Music Theory" with Dr. Megan Beugger, "Together We Flute!" with Hideko Amano, "Famous Violinists" with Charles Pikler.
A number of professional musicians and educators will be joining MYAC this summer to give instrument-specific master classes.
Improvisation classes will be divided into three levels of instruction based on prior knowledge of the jazz idiom. Each class will consist of a 15-minute prerecorded video from one of the members of the MYAC jazz faculty.
