COD Foundation Scholarship Celebration Brings Together Recipients and Donors

College of DuPage student Angel Avery expressed her thanks to the many scholarship donors during the annual College of DuPage Foundation Scholarship Celebration.

“I work four part-time jobs, so I understand how important time and money is,” said Avery (Wheaton), recipient of the Human Services Newcomer Scholarship. “This scholarship is just another motivation for me to pursue my goals and my dreams.”

Sherman Neal, president of the COD Foundation Board, thanked the scholarship donors for making an investment in the future of the College's students.

“Education is the bridge to what you want to achieve in your lives,” he told the recipients. “This is a flagship event for the Foundation. This is what we do and it's my pleasure to connect scholarship recipients and donors to show what we can do together.”

The College of DuPage Foundation awarded nearly 500 scholarships totaling $500,000 and received a record 1,800 applications.
