April 7 workshop focuses on state of Illinois jobs

Interested in working for the state of Illinois? Learn about the application and interview process, exams and how to navigate the state employment website at a Work 4 Illinois workshop on Thursday, April 7. The workshop will be held from 1-2 p.m. in Room 008, lower level of 1 N. Genesee St., College of Lake County Lakeshore Campus, Waukegan.

The workshop is co-sponsored by the Diversity Enrichment Program of the state Central Management Services Office. Minority applicants, particularly Latinos and African-Americans, are encouraged to attend.

"CLC's effort to host the workshop demonstrates the college's commitment to hiring a diverse workforce as well as increasing employment in historically underserved communities," said Christian Roldan-Johnson, associate dean of Engineering, Math and Physical Sciences at CLC. Prior to joining CLC in 2014, Roldan-Johnson was appointed to serve on the Illinois Governor's Council for Hispanic Employment, which has collaborated with other councils and the Central Management Services office to increase the number of minority employees in state agencies.
