SOS Presents Beauty and the Beast Jr. at Barrington High School

"Be Our Guest to An Enchanting Tale as Old as Time", as Schaumburg On Stage presents the award-winning musical Disney's Beauty and the Beast Jr. August 8th, August 9th and August 10th at the Richard C. Johnson Auditorium - Barrington High School, 616 W. Main Street, Barrington, Illinois.

Now in its 17th season and 28th production, Schaumburg On Stage, has been bringing the Northwest suburbs premier musical theatre since 1997. With Beauty and the Beast, it creates the storybook magic of an enchanted castle and a French provincial town in the 1700's with a orchestrated music, costumes that come to life and spectacular show-stopping, all cast dance numbers. Hannah Lullo of Roselle and Emily Miller of Schaumburg will be featured in the role of Belle, a beautiful young yet odd village girl in search of adventure. The trapped curse prince and Beast, who yearns to love and be loved, is portrayed by RJ Cecott of Hickory Hills and Brad Wendt of South Elgin. Natalie Betz of Hoffman Estates and Gina Robertelli of Bloomingdale share the role of Mrs. Potts, the comforting motherly teapot. The brawny conceited hunter Gaston is played by Russ Badalamenti of Prospect Heights and Carson Walker of Palatine. His bumbling sidekick, Lefou, is solely played by Jimmy Romano of Bloomingdale. Theodore Dernekxis of Elk Grove Village plays Maurice, Belle's eccentric inventor father.

Enchanted castle objects include talented actors and dancers from all over Chicagoland area including Connor Murray of Bartlett playing Lumiere the candelabra. Cogsworth, the serious timely clock, is played by Kevin Cagney of Barrington and Anthony Irsuto of Roselle. Katie Jackovin of Bartlett and Antoinette Ricchio of Roselle share the role of the operatic Wardrobe. The glamorous Vanity is portrayed by Sammantha Marino of Medinah and Jackie Podgorny of Palatine and Audrey Rose of Schaumburg. Kelly Benoit of Bartlett and Erin Brooks of Roselle, share the role of Babette, the flirtatious feather duster. Chip the curious tea cup is played by Gianna Catania of Elk Grove Village, Madison Roden of Bartlett and Blake Smith of Elk Grove Village.

The production is lead by producers, Carol Lynch and Kerrie Noah, directors/choreographers, Colleen Lynch and Danielle Zyrkowski, and music director John Hacker.

The cast of over 90 performers ranging from 8 to 18 years of age have been rehearsing only 6 weeks preparing for this classic Disney musical featuring such songs as "Be Our Guest", "Tale As Old As Time" and "Human Again". It is sure to be a performance that audiences young and old will find Enchanting!

Performances will be at 7 p.m. on Aug. 8 & Aug. 9 and at 1 p.m. on Aug. 9 & Aug. 10. at Richard C. Johnson Auditorium, Barrington High School, 616 W. Main Street in Barrington, Illinois.
