Sisters Sing in Concert--Finally--Friday and Sunday
One Latin Teacher: One Pediatric Intensive-Care Nurse; Two Professional Vocal Musicians:
TOGETHER AT LAST--Sisters in Life ... Sisters in Song
40-year Wauconda resident Mary Ann Beatty and her sister Joanna Porackova from Lexington, MA, will take the stage, with Palatine resident Linda Camp at the piano, in two concerts this weekend: Friday, April 21, at St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church, 22333 West Erhart Road, Mundelein, IL,; and Sunday, April 23, at The Church of the Holy Spirit (Episcopal), 400 East Westminster, Lake Forest, IL. There will be a freewill offering at both venues.
The program features beloved duets, arias, and songs from the Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary Periods of Music, sung in Italian, French, German, Czech, Chinese, Japanese, and English.
Ms. Beatty has soloed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Chamber Orchestra, and the Grand Rapids (MI) Symphony, among others. Ms. Porackova has starred with the Washington National Opera, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Boston Lyric Opera, to name a few. Ms. Camp is a Professor of Piano at Elmhurst College and Organist/Accompanist at First United Methodist Church of Palatine.
This Concert Series (Chicago, Boston, New York, and Northwest Indiana) marks the first time that these musical artists have sung together as adults. Originally from Whiting, Indiana, they both had successful careers outside of music. However, their passion for singing led them to accomplished second vocations in the world of professional music.
